Asian Greens are a subset of Greens favored in Asian Cuisines.


Asian Greens include: Bok Choi, Chinese Kale, Choy Sum, Chinese Parsley, Chop Suey Greens, Gai Choi, Kang Kong, Garlic Chives, Komatsuna, Misome, Mizuna, Napa Cabbage, Chrysanthemum Greens, Sweet Potato Leaves and Tatsoi.

Culinary Uses

Asian Greens are usually Stir Fried or added to Stir Fries, Steamed or used in Appetizers, Salads or Soups.


Each individual Asian Green has its own nutritional profile and most of our information on them is covered on their specific resource pages. In general, most Asian Greens (except for Kang Kong and En Choy) are in the brassica family which means that they have Glucosinolates (a toxic compound in large doses that is thought to protect against cancer in small doses), and are good sources of Vitamin C, Calcium and Iron.
