Gold Raspberries are a mutation of Red Raspberries, the only difference being their color.

Golden raspberries offers a creamy flavor, and is more mild than a Red Raspberry. The golden raspberry is deep yellow when immature, developing a rich, amber-gold color when ripe and turning red-orange when overripe.

Gold Raspberries season is May to late July and September, through November.

Production

Gold raspberries thrive in the cool climate of the Pacific Northwest. Today nearly all varieties of Raspberries are commercially cultivated. November through March the berries are grown in Hoop Houses to protect them from colder weather.

When purchasing fresh whole Gold Raspberries, look for Gold Raspberries that are dull, vibrant amber gold in color and are firm to the touch.

Storage

Store fresh whole Gold Raspberries unwashed in the refrigerator. With most Berries, when stored with any surrounding moisture increases the decaying process dramatically.

Fresh Gold Raspberries will last 2-4 days refrigerated and approximetly 1 year frozen.
