Plump, hollow and bright red, the Red Raspberry offers an intense, sweet-tart flavor. The distinguishing difference between the red raspberry and the Blackberry, is the hollow core that is created in the raspberry.

Red Raspberries have been prized since two thousand years ago! Sources say Ancient Greeks were the first to cultivate the Red Raspberry. This berry grows in many soil types and prefers an open and sunny area, for growing conditions. Red Raspberry plants have perennial roots with shoots, referred to as canes, that are biennial.

Season

Red Raspberries season is May-June.

November through March, Red Raspberries are grown in hoop houses to protect them from colder weather.
