Despite its name, the Hamburg Chicken, a layer, was developed in Holland and not Hamburg, Germany. They are small Chickens, averaging 4 to 5 lbs (1.8 kg to 2.3 kg) in weight. In England they are called the “Dutch Everyday Layers” (sometimes just “Everlayers”) because they lay about 200 to 220 smallish white Eggs a year.

Hamburg Chickens have 4 toes, a rose comb, and come in several color varieties, including silver spangled, golden Spangled, gold-pencilledsilver-pencilled, white and black.
