Meyer Lemons were brought to the United States from Bejing, China.

Meyer lemons easily differentiate themselves from the common Lemon with their shape, fragrance, color and taste. They are oval yet rounded. Their coloring is a deep yellow. Their smooth semi-thin peel is fragrant and oily. Their flesh is low acid, aromatic, floral and sweet.


Meyer Lemons season begins in the Winter months and ends in the Spring.

The Meyer lemon trees are exceptional garden and grove trees, making them suitable for all levels of cultivation. They flourish in dry, temperate coastal climates and require little rainfall or irrigation. Meyer lemons do not have a large commercial market as they do not withstand excessive handling or shipping.


Purchase Meyer Lemons that are heavy for their size. Meyer Lemons skin should be bright yellow, smooth, and have no scars. Meyer Lemons should also be firm when pressure is gently applied in the palm of your hand.


Meyer Lemons can be stored at room temperature or in the refrigerator. When stored at room temperature, Meyer Lemons will last 7-10 days. When stored in the refrigerator, Meyer Lemons will last 3-4 weeks.

Portion Size

Allow 1-2 t of Meyer Lemon Juice per recipe.
