Mizuna (Brassica Juncea var. Japonica), also known as Pot Herb Mustard, and Kyona, is a type of Mustard Green widely grown in Japan. Mizuna Mustard Greens are yellow-green, with deeply notched almost feathery leaves. Mizuna can grow up to 12 to 18 inches in height 38.1 cm to 45.7 cm).
All Mizuna varieties are good candidates for winter gardening with Fall Plantings. Mizuna can be cut and picked many times over the season.
Within the Mizuna group there is further differentiation with varieties such as Red Kyona Mizuna (deep red/purple leaves with mild flavor and nice texture) or Ruby Mizuna (feathered bronze leaves).
Mizuna Mustard Greens are mild and sweet enough to be used for Salads.
