Red Oxidation: (meaning “rust”) is the reddish tones you may have seen on your stainless steel knives. If the discoloration is light, you can try cleaning the knife first with a high quality mineral oil.  If it is heavier, the knife may need to be cleaned with a standard metal cleaner or polish.  In order to prevent rusting, diligently clean your knives and dry them after use.
