A Solute is a complicated name that categorizes the "Stuff" or "Things" that go into a Solvent, typically a liquid, to make a Solution

Think of pouring Salt into water to form a saline solution. The Salt is the "thing", called a Solute that is suspended in the water, also called, in this case the Solvent.

Solutions, such as saline are homogeneous mixtures because they have a uniform composition throughout. In the case of saline, the salt and water cannot be seen separately but together have the same form and appearance.
