Culinary Uses

Sifting means to push dry ingredients through a fine mesh. Sifting was traditionally an important step to ensure that no impurities (bugs, kids toys etc) were hidden in the dry ingredient. Today it still serves that purpose, though our sources of supply and storage are better. Sifting also helps break down any future lumps. One of the easiest ways to sift is with a Sifter.
