Dover Sole generally come from the United States in the North Pacific, with Mexico being another source.


In the United States when you see Sole on a menu at a restaurant or in a fish retailer, the sole is mainly the Dover Sole variant, known simply as “Sole.”


A flaky flatfish high in vitamins B6B12, magnesium, phosphorus and selenium, and calcium, Sole has .9 grams of Omega 3 Essential Fatty Acids per 6-ounce cooked portion.  It is considered to be a low mercury fish.
