The basic idea of the Liquid Displacement Method is to avoid the hassle of measuring the irregular shapes and textures of most semi-liquids by adding the hassle of using another liquid to take the reading. For instance, if you want 1 cup of Peanut Butter, spray a 2 cup liquid measuring cup with non stick spray and then add in 1 cup of cold water. Next add the Peanut Butter until the water level reaches 2 cups. Scoop out and use the Peanut Butter. Alternatively, pour out the water then scoop out the Peanut Butter.
