Oven-Safe means that the item in question can withstand up to 500° F (260°C) in an oven for extended periods without melting or becoming damaged. 

Frequently, some cookware serves the dual purpose of being used on the stove top and in the oven. The benefits are reaped in taste, housekeeping, and time.

If the Fond travels with an ingredient from the stove top to the oven in an Oven-Safe cooking vessel, the Fond remains available to enhance flavor.

If a food item is transferred from the stove top cookware to oven safe cookware for the roasting or baking phase of its preparation, the flavorful Fond remains behind with the stove top pot or pan.

Time is saved by using oven safe cookware because moving a pot or pan from stove top to oven is much quicker than transferring the ingredients to a separate Oven Safe pan. The time and headache benefits continue to accrue when housekeeping is figured into the equation. 

One pot/pan means only one to wash, dry and put away.
