Wine Vinegar can be made from both red and white wines and is a staple of Mediterranean cooking. Wine Vinegar tends to have a lower acidity than White or Cider Vinegars. Aging (up to two years) in wood helps mature a Wine Vinegar’s flavor.

Red Wine Vinegar makes great mustard vinaigrettes and is used for Braising meat such as Beef and Game.

White Wine Vinegar may sometimes be harsh, so a high quality brand should be used.

Culinary Uses

Both Red and White Wine Vinegars can be used for making Flavored Vinegars. Use Red Wine Vinegar for robust blends of herbs & spices. Use White Wine Vinegar for more delicate herbs.
